Comox Bay Sailing Club Membership


The Comox Bay Sailing Club offers a range of membership classes to accommodate the wide assortment of interests and commitment levels of our boating community. We accept new member applications throughout the year for all classes of membership!

Full Membership


With a Full Membership to the CBSC, you have access to everything the CBSC has to offer.   Advantages include:

Access to the club’s fleet of dinghies (Laser, 420, Opti) and kayaks, with guest privileges. Cansail level II or equivalent skill verification is required for use of club dinghies.

Boat ownership training via seasonal maintenance day participation.

Access to club race events and BC Sailing events throughout the sailing season.

Shared knowledge of sailing and boats through community connections and mentorship.  

Help shape the club as an active participant through voting and volunteering.

Full membership is offered to individuals for $195 per year, to families for $360 per year, and to Juniors for $160 per year.


Basic Membership


This class of membership is intended for people who wish to participate in our CanSail programs, as well as connect with the Comox Valley sailing community. You and your family will be invited to participate in all of our off-water events, as well as having access to join our crew list for keelboat racing. 

Basic members do not have access to club sailboats or kayaks outside of use in registered programs,.  This membership can be easily upgraded at any time in the season to gain full access to CBSC assets and on-water events.

Basic membership is offered to individuals for $35 per year, and to families for  $55 per year.

NEW FOR 2023

Basic Individual Membership shall be open to any individual regardless of age. Basic members are able to take courses with CBSC and participate in club organized activities with the consent of their parent or guardian if under the age of 18. However they do not have voting rights and are not entitled to use of club assets outside of official programs and events.

Basic Family Membership shall be open to a family comprised of one adult and their spouse or partner, and their dependent children who are under 19 years of age on the application date. Basic members are able to take courses with CBSC and participate in club organized activities with the consent of their parent or guardian if under the age of 18. Basic members do not have voting rights and are not entitled to use of Club Assets outside of official programs.
